2024 – A year in review Stirling Karate – Seminars, training opportunities and holiday camps.

Seminars, training opportunities and holiday camps. We have had some amazing training opportunities this past year in both the traditional JKA karate space as well as in the sports karate space. Within JKA we have had Seminars with karate masters from JKA head quarters. Sensei Ukuma Sensei Ugura Sensei Lutie Sensei Karin also visited the birthplace of karate in Okinawa, where she attended the spring Gashku. We are so fortunate that she can bring back all that knowledge to the club. Sensei Karin and Sensei Leon also attended the Autum Gashku before the JKA World Championships at Hunbu (our head dojo) in Tokyo Japan again training with the JKA head quarter instructors. Holiday Camp run from strength to strength and we always have such a blast learning from guest instructors that have their finger on the pulse of world Karate. Sensei Olivia Clifford sensei Laura Golding, Sensei karin and Sensei Leon. Thank you again to Senpais Alison, Anette and Debbie for assisting with all the new students giving karate a go at these camps. We also managed to attend the Kaizen culture super Camp, which was held in Melbourne with the instructors being the team members that competed at the world karate Federation team events World Cup we are excited to implement all those learnings in the competition Karate space this coming year. Since I Olivia Clifford also had a one day extensive seminar on the tactics that she is currently using at world level and if these opportunities come up, we strongly suggest that competitive athletes support these. We are looking forward to having more camps in the holidays next year with the next one being on the 12th and 13th of January. Simply own myself also have gotten involved in developing karate in regional Australia, and we traveled to the Wheatbelt in Notham as well as Margaret Rivera for the southwest regional seminar. we look forward to developing more in the space in the coming year with some more regional grants being available for WA Karate. Thank you to sensei Karin who is serving on the WA Karate board this past year and all the work they are doing in opening up many more opportunities for karate growth within the state in both the traditional karate and sporting karate space. #karinprinsloo #wakarate #stirlingkarate #australiakaratefederation #karrinyupkarate #gwelupkarate
